"On Broadway" is a song written by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil in collaboration with the team of Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Cookies, The Crystals' The Drifters, and George Benson made this a hit.

I think I mentioned before that I was never into AC/DC back in the day.  But nowadays I listen to their music with awe.  They were a great band.

Speaking of great bands, here's another from back then.  The into to this song is amazing...sends shivers up my spine.

In 1987 Roy sang "O, Pretty Woman" with help from Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, James Burton, Glen D. Hardin, Tom Waits, kd lang, Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt, JD Souther, T Bone Burnett, Steven Soles, and Jennifer Warnes.

The British took American Blues and ran with it.  A lot of the early Brit musicians of the 60’s owe a lot to this guy and his band. I had a friend way back that always had the Bluesbreakers on the turntable. Loved it then, still do. Roy sang that song when I was about 13 yrs old.  I still get shivers when I hear him singing it.

The Searchers made this song popular back in the 60's, but their version was a cover.  Here is the original.

Back when I was around 20 or 21 I got interested in folk/country music because a friend of mine was a folk musician.  He played clubs and bars across Canada and the USA.  This was one of the musicians he turned me on to.
