Moving further along on the Concours maintenance........the front wheel bearings and speedo drive box got some new grease. Front brake pads have some meat on them yet, so back on they went. Bled and replaced front and rear brake fluid although the old brake fluid didn't look too terribly bad.
I also built myself a small auxilliary fuel tank and a simple manometer with two hoses to synch the carbs on it............ I just can't bring myself to spend $100.00 or so + shipping for a store bought manometer. Carbs were out of synch for sure and the home made unit worked very well to get all four carbs marching to the same beat. Engine idles much more smoothly and accepts throttle openings without any of the previously noticed slight hesitation. I am very satisfied with the results.

So I've had this naging feeling that I've left a potential problem with some wiring and my battery cut off switch. Had a look around some other forums and dove in to the rats nest that is the police bikes wiring. Figured out why the bike would run at speed with the cut off turned off. Moved some grounds around and now all is well. I can sleep well knowing that even if my ignition relay fails the cut off will do it's job.

Put new coils in the CX500 and it's still running like crap.
I think it's time for a new stator.

Plated the bike and went for ride!
Pass Creek is still kinda crummy, Blewitt Road is in surprisingly good shape. The highways are perfect. Side roads in fair to good shape.

I don't know him.
I think he might've been in Riondel a year or two ago? Does he have a cream and red bobber?

Winter's back.... with freezing rain... ice fog... that brisk easterly wind... more snow... Bike is parked and it's probably not moving at all this week...
Oh well... whine whine whine...
...it's dark and gloomy... reminds me of Vancouver but without the expensive gas...

After changing out front and back brake fluid on the 02 Concours thought I might as well replace the hydraulic clutch fluid also. I was surprised to find the clutch fluid needing attention as the brake fluid that came out looked rather clean in camparison. More grunge was found in the clutch hydraulic system than I am comfortable with. So now the clutch line fluid is fresh as well.
Used the home made manometer to sync the carbs on the 93 Katana 750 ongoing project. I knew the carbs were really out of sync from the get go and I got them very close to each other. Not quite where I would like them but close enough for now.
I'm going to need to pull the carbs again as I had #4 carb spewing fuel from the overflow anytime the float bowl got too full with fuel. I'm going to need to go back and spend some time with the float and needle on that carb. FARK!!! FARK!!! and in case know one is listening ......FAARRKK!!!!
