I've never loved satin black and mag wheels as much as I do right now.
Less time polishing more time
riding
fixing electrical problems.

Yes indeed I approve of that Bill, that looks amazing and one should be very proud of the progress on that bike.
Guess I better step it up a notch.
You don't need to step anything up John! Keep in mind...this was done with a machine. You're like John Henry on the railroad...all by hand.

Replaced the alternator rotor, diode board, regulator and front crank seal in the LeMans tonight.
Gen light is out and the system is charging!
The old rotor had given it's all, it's got a broken wire somewhere inside and the potting material was falling out in my hand when I pulled it out. The diode board was giving me really wonky readings on the meter so it got changed and I swapped the regulator just because.

Feels great when you finish up and the bike runs the way it's supposed to run Shawn!
Today I installed the exhaust system and test fired the resto. It started right up and purrs like a kitten! I have some oil leaks to source...probably gaskets that need to soak up and swell.

Fixed a sticking throttle.
I have to say tomaselli throttles sure are easy to work on.

Let us know how those leaks progress. My experience is that they don’t remedy themselves.

So far I'm down a quart! A couple of leaks have sealed but there are some that will require attention. One causes me concern...on the cover on the points side...the seal must be leaking. That's not a good sign. Must have been a S#*tty rebuild!

Drained the oil and got the bike ready to strip down the engine. Turns out my kick start isn't working properly. A new set of gaskets are ordered.
A part came in the mail so I resumed rebuilding a set of VM28SC carbs. Somehow I managed to put #3 and #4 in the wrong slots and the connecting air pipe wouldn't go on. Spent an hour sorting that out. Carbs are almost done!

Shake down mini cruise on the recently collector plated 93 Katana 750. Only about 40 kms around town and up the Coquihala - all went well. This was a short term project that turned into a longer term project.
Spins quite high at highway speeds but those motors are meant for that. Will investigate a minor noise when rear brake is applied.
Riding season is here!!

Smoke is back although lighter so after a visit from a fellow and his 1955 Triumph TRW, I got all enthused and started assembly of the Dunstall BSA Tribute.
New grease nipples in the newly installed swing arm, new shocks, new taper bearing headset, new steering lock, all using new stainless steel fasteners.
Next is the fork legs and ordering a few hundred bucks more bits. Spring is just around the corner.

Right you are Steve.
1972 Firebird but with café tank, Dunstall seat, Dunstall clip ons, Dunstall front fender and over and under mini reverse Dunstall megaphones and rearsets.
When I was about 20 - 21 years old I had a 1967 Dunstall A65. This is an updated tribute edition - if you call a 47 year old motorcycle an update

Rode mine from Ontario Oregon to home. That's other side of the river from Idaho near Nampa.
Had to get it home, having wiring, battery lighting issues since Wells Nevada yesterday..
Met some very cool people at Bonnevillem got to tear a 754 top end off in impound on a record setting bike..
Just an incredible collection of bikes, and bike people.
I went to the roadrace, missed sidecar ride due to needing full gear.
The pits were great, the racing, well, let's just say, not so good too watch, .. I may never go to one again, not my thing.
Did find a Magnesium Morris mag that might be available, shockingly light when you pick it up.
Saw a 160 in a yet am frame, sort of cool.. amazing bikes..
