Increased training for motorcyclists, a good thing IMO, after observing “Squidly” behaviour lately.
BUT,  ultimately reduced car driver testing, fast tracking seemingly to fast track,,,  and reduce testing backlogs!!!   Crazy!!!   Car driver insanity headed our way!!!

Recently I talked to a person who is a fair ways up the ICBC food chain about this, he had alluded that this was happening in the near future. Apparently final re-test outcomes had high % passes making the secondary re-test somewhat redundant. And with government trying to reign in costs...

Just the messenger.

Yeah. There's a situation here where we may never see the truth, as usual. Global did a news segment last week that at the end of their report, softly  "alluded" to 50% drivers test failure rate, and 30% 2nd test failure rate, including the [new driver] they covered for the report.

I see this as a push towards "driving is a right" rather than the decades long first world "driving is a privledge" in this soft and weak society of 2025. Current reports of multiple crashes, regular semi overpass hits, police quietly exasperated over highly diminished driving capabilities.

Bike Riders be aware. Ride as if you are literally invisible.

The overpass thing is nuts. If you are so intellectually bankrupt you can't run a tape measure, you should NOT run a truck.

And you could not pay me enough to drive west of the Portman bridge on a daily basis..

"Motorcyclists

Current:

Drivers with a driver’s licence can write their knowledge test, take a road test and get their full Class 6 motorcycle licence within 30 days.
Riders without an existing driver’s licence must do a 30-day learner (write knowledge test, do road test) and complete a 24-month Novice period.
Key changes:

A longer learning and restriction period is being introduced:
Learner stage: nine months (six months with approved training); and
Restricted Class 6 stage: 18 months (12 months with approved training)."

I wonder if these proposed changes are based on evidence gained from accidents?

I took a training course before re-licensing back in 2014.  It was worth every penny.

Don't forget, if you're over height, dispatch gives you a route that you're supposed to follow!
