Multi-Vehicle Collector Plate Renewal 2024

That time has arrived again for me. It has taken 1-3 days to renew these last 19 years I’ve had mine. I went to my usual autoplan agent, who is well versed in the specialty plates because of,,,,,,,,me. So
I was expect to drop off my paperwork and return 3-4 days later. Not so!!!!! 2 minutes!!!! In fact, I had to tell him to stop, as I wanted to modify the value of one of my bikes higher, my (you meet the nicest people on a) ct70, from $3k to $4k. Once that changed, expecting an increase from inflation and uptick in declared value. Very surprised when premium dropped from $545 to $511 a full year, including $3 M liability.
I continue to be a fairly happy ICBC customer, very much understanding the possibility that the new ‘fault free’ system lurks in the shadows should I get smacked by the growing herd of “extreme vehicle operation incompetence “ within our jurisdiction. By sheer fluke, the ‘fault free’ system has been adopted at the same time as a mass influx of temporary residents who, IMO , have a different level of importance of motor vehicle ‘decorum’. But I won’t go any further with this subject.

I also had the multi plate for a while some years ago when I had several bikes within the same size category. Done right, it's a great way to keep more than one machine on the road during the riding season. Just DON'T forget to transfer the plate over. I took a bike into a shop for some minor stuff, and the guy noticed I had ridden all the way in from Surrey, without a license plate. DAMN ! Had to take the bus home, remove the plate from the other machine, then bus back to the dealer. Lesson hard learned.

I think Steve is right. There are many more furriners in Canada thanks to JT. On our trip East we stopped mostly at Petrocan gas stations where all of the cashiers were off colour. Same for most of the Timmys.

Nothing wrong with immigrants. We need them because Gen x young adults are not having kids. But the sheer mass numbers have overwhelmed all our social systems. As well as not integrating, mass numbers causes them to retain their entire culture by not socially engaging in other cultures, as well as not learning our national languages, as well as keeping certain third world ‘norms’ , like absolutely chaotic vehicle operation.
Ron has great advice on the multi plate,,,,,,I’ve risen off a lot without a plate, but do it less now after a cop cut me a break years ago.

I'm not anti-immigrant. My grandparents were immigrants. I was just making an observation on how much change has occurred since we last travelled in 22019. And I agree we need them to pay taxes to run social programs.
