I was just talking to one of my neighbours. Apparently Canada Post has raised its GST processing fee to $20.

When ordering parts, I try to avoid Canada Post. I’ve tried to avoid investing money in communist dictatorships since my first job 46 yrs ago.

The current administration has increased payroll head count by 60% in 6 years. That costs money.

These fees are why I don’t like any of the delivery providers UPS have a $15 processing fee to charge the duties even if it is exempt! That has probably gone up as well. Then a $5 fee for fee collection then a fuel surtax and any other fee they can think of so last UPS I got from England was $35 in fees $12 in shipping for a $9 item. All to collect 45 cents in gst and $1.63 in duty for an exempt ppiece but they do not honour any exemption codes. One agent told me they charge duty on everything so that the Canadian government does not audit or hassle them. Thanks Canada! What a ripoff!

A fee to charge a fee, very simple. They charge you ten bucks for charging you ten bucks so they can collect more taxes on the ten bucks not for any service just because we roll over and say “ yes guv’mint we loves paying too much for everything”
Wow, I sound like an old man!
