The Crazed Acquisitor

« on: February 25, 2024, 09:38:23 AM »

Well, a few people know this but I may as well come clean with it.
I go in for prostate cancer surgery on Tuesday morning  so will be in rough shape for a few days 2-3 in the hospital then off home to recover. If all goes to plan then by the end of April I should be up and at it again

I am only mentioning this to have you guys aware that if something goes funny ( funnier) on the site I will get to it but it might take a day or two. Everything at our end is all set and the family are ready to give a hand so we are in good shape we think. I will up date when I get home and start feeling decent again
Ron and a couple of the local riders were out to my shop and storage locker last week to have a look and I think they enjoyed the morning hopefully once I am back at it u will hold  another open day and some others can come and have a look. I am hoping to be back to riding for the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride May 19

Good luck on the procedure Frank. I did the prostrate cancer surgery last October. They've got the procedure down to a fairly smooth operation. Honestly the worst you should potentially expect is the miserable catheter you'll have to live with for a while. Changing over from night time bag to 'mobile' bag which is strapped to your leg is a system you'll get used to quickly but never becomes enjoyable.  And if your doctor decides to keep it installed an extra week like me, it became a stage beyond uncomfortable, it became painful and damaging to the johnston!

Wishing you and your family good luck Frank.  I haven't had THAT surgery but I've had both hip joints replaced.  It takes more out of you than you think.  Get plenty of rest before you go in and the same when you come out.

Hoping all goes well Frank and hope to cross paths somewhere this summer.
I am so fortunate that June guided me through my mess just over a year ago and get me back on track.
Wishing you the best and hoping for a good recovery.
