new addition to the stable 79 yamaha 650 special. was sitting in garage for 20+ yrs. even came with a sweet little trailer. it was drained of gas so put some in and a squirt of wd40 in the cyl and it started right up. could not ride as i was using big harley battery to jump got a new battery so will test ride tomorrow. not bad for the cheap price. every thing works too. also pretty new tires look good for sitting that long.

Looks good.   Seat is not as radically stepped as later model Specials.

What is that on the right side under the back of the tank?  I thought it was the petcock but it's in the first pic on the left side.

DUAL petcocks? Many old Brit bikes had them.  I guess the Yamaha folks just copied the Brits for more than the overall look of the bike.

Well I guess it gets all of the fuel in the tank.  My Kawasaki tanks always have a little bit left on the right side after emptying the reserve.
