The Crazed Acquisitor

« on: October 02, 2023, 11:45:06 AM »

HeyGuys,
Just an update. They discharged me Wednesday got home Friday, doing far better so upright and moving around quite well. Now I have to relearn balance, walking correctly and writing as 4 months of screwed up has taught me a lot of bad habits apparently.
Glad to be free and feeling so much better and with some luck and work I will be back in my shop to finish off the projects I started in the spring (oh yeah) perhaps driving and riding again soon enough.

Three years ago I was hit with an Immune Deficiency issue which they eventually got me back from and in the last six months it came back slowly with a vengeance. Vision has been double with “Dancing Eyes”  so BAD vision and balance, using a walker and no driving/riding/working in my shop since February. They will never cure this they say but at least make me functional again so life is decent.
Back walking pretty good and vision e around recovering well so all good result, just have to be patient.
I am good and happy to be upright so this is fine. That is the short version and should do.

Frank,  good to hear you are getting well again.      I also had a big set back last year at this time and am still recovering and it is doubtful I will regain all of my functions as they were before the hospital stay during the fall last year.   On a positive note I was able to jettison both the walker and my cane after a few months of coaching from June to the point of almost collapsing a few times.  I have made it back to the garage over the summer and during the last month June has had me out for a few short rides to test my strength and equilibrium.
Just take one day at a time as we no longer heal quickly as we get older.
Glad to hear you are back again.

Both of you, Frank and John, thank you for sharing.   Too many rumours floating around regarding what had side-lined you guys.    Truth and openess carries all.

Thanks for the update Frank and John.  I understand how your worlds have become smaller as a result.  We all have issues as we get older but mine (hip replacements) are tiny by comparison.  Lately I've been thinking more about the uncertainty of life.  I do all I can physically to remain healthy and flexible.  It's a daily grind, but the result so far has been the ability to do pretty much what I want when I want.   I'm definitely not the person I was at 21 but I think I'm the best person I can be at my current age.

Keep moving forward guys.

John.....Erica and I saw you & June sneaking a ride a couple Sundays ago, at the Pitt Meadows Airport. I thought I recognized that little red Sportster coming down the road, with a loving escort behind. Good on you and continued best wishes.

All the best to you too Frank, your positive attitude will stand you in good stead. That, and a goodly amount of meditative shoptime! Cheers, Rob
