Some dickhead knocked my Ascot over onto the sidewalk when it was parked on Broadway yesterday.  I spotted it just as it was happening and ran out to prevent the dick from driving away.  A bunch of cosmetic damage.  I filed an ICBC claim but I'm concerned about how they'll value replacement parts that are basically unobtainable or only attainable at very high cost.  Also worried about the impact of 'No fault'.  Anybody else gone through this recently.

That totally sucks. No experience with no fault regarding non bodily injury claims involving only the machine. What do you have the bikes value as? Concerned about rendering it total loss.

Man, that sucks.

No fault basically means you  can’t sue anyone and you have to accept ICBC’s award.  Mostly it applies to injuries.

As far as the repairs to the bike and whether ICBC will right it off is maybe up for negotiation.  Years ago when I crashed my red Kz1000, I was in your position.  If ICBC was to repair it, it might have been written off.  At that point the bike belongs to ICBC and you’re screwed.  I pleaded and grovelled to the adjuster and got him to write me a check just shy of the write off threshold.

Dave, you’d best hope that the ICBC adjuster hasn’t clued in that it’s the worst bike of the ‘80s.  Could affect his/her/it’s evaluation.

  Ooooh, that one stings Ross.

I'm sure ICBC adjusters never watch Ryan @ Fortnine.
