Frank’s CB750 parts
«

Hey guys,
I’m wondering if anyone up there in K-country knows what happened to Frank’s hoard of CB750 parts when he passed away? I’ve acquired a CB 750 that, the more I look at it, needs a lot of help. I’ve only just got it home and honestly haven’t really looked at it all that closely. But even just to get it running, I need things like a petcock.
Anyway, if someone knows where Frank’s parts ended up, please let me know.
Thanks,
Ross

Ross, a few of us up this way picked at a few things we wanted, then the family sold the whole remaining lot to someone else....maybe Bent Bike, but maybe that was a rumour. Ask Dale Wallis.

Thought I’d chop off the rear frame, put on a lizard skin single seat, clip-on bars, car tires, wrap the exhaust, paint it metal flake purple. Then it should be worth at least $30K.

The bike is a 77 CB750. It’s a complete, largely unmolested bike. The chrome is all quite good. It’s missing the springs from both the side and centre stand, the washer for the petcock is gone, the carb slides are stuck solid, the side covers are broken, the tank needs stripping and paint but looks like new inside, cables all work, needs sprockets, chain and tires, it has a black 4 into 1 exhaust, has no battery.
Not likely I’ll attempt to get it to collector status. It’s not the most desirable CB750. First goal is to get it running and go from there. I was hoping not to dismantle the carbs but with the carb slides stuck I will probably see if I can put the entire rack in Bby Kawasaki’s ultrasonic vat.

Lordco usually has a good selection of compression and tension springs. You might find some that work for the stands.

I hope it's easier to work on than my Goldwing. My winter project this year is changing the air cleaner in that beast!

Be careful Ross,,this renewal literally could quickly exceed the value of the bike.

I am well aware. Even to just get it road worthy, the cost will likely exceed its value at that point. Even if the bike was in “excellent” condition it’s only worth maybe $4500. A decent runner, maybe $2000-2500?
I got it for something to do. Getting a bit of cabin fever without a project. I didn’t want a complete tear down, and this one, hopefully, will fit the bill.

Winter projects are good therapy for the mind. You need to buy an English motorcycle, owners of those have VERY sharp minds. Lolol

A friend of mine said I should get a British bike to restore just so I can truly feel what frustration feels like.
Mine are all Hondas. Cliff.
