Just heard about this a few minutes ago. Apparently owner Fenton has sold the property to developers. Moveout is either end of May, or end of June. Worth a check for deals.
Now I know why the order I placed didn't happen. Glad I didn't put money down.

Do you know if they’ll close one or both locations.  I assume you mean closing the Surrey shop.  I’ve never been to the Vancouver store.

Another slap in the face for the previous Surrey Yamaha dealer.

Any idea if they’ll close permanently?  Or relocate?

Not sure of the previous Yamaha dealer. But it is a serious slap across the face to the former Suzuki dealer owned by Eddie McMann , who ran the second most successfull sales numbers in Canada for units sold. Tiny little shop. Kicked ass. The regional manager shut him down April Fools Day, the regional manager got fired 5 months later. Suzuki sales crashed.
I’ll never know what reasons are for its closing. I will take a stab that the extremely dead stock of Zero electric motorcycles didn’t help matters.
I was told yesterday that Daytona Vancouver’s two shops across the street from each other, on Powell St. ( KTM has its own boutique shop all to themselves) is running $60k a month rent.

When Daytona shut down in 2000 I picked up a couple of PU truck loads of stuff for scrap $$. Made around 10k a year for about 3 years after. Totes full of carbs,RZ500 seats,Daytona bodywork, Katana stuff.....Inverted forks, swingarms...NOS rectifiers...Should have bought WAY more.

Yes, my slip up, I meant to say Suzuki.

I've been to both locations.  Did not like access to the downtown one.  Also, it was small.

Daytona Surrey's last day is May 28th/22. No special prices, well, maybe the bikes are a good deal. All inventory will be sent to the Vancouver stores. All accessory and parts people will move to Vancouver. All service was shut down May 1st. One service tech moved to Goldbridge to buy a store, the other tech moved to Imperial Motorcycles.  Wally Levy's last day there is May 28th. Sounds like they will keep the buildings, renting them out to other businesses. The big reason for the move, the store has been getting slower and slower. As of June 1st/22, the biggest municipality in Canada does not have a motorcycle shop.

BTW, Zero Motorcycles, only dealer in SW BC, dropped 6 months ago from both locations. Massive warranty issues with batteries, and electrics in general, and, “ZERO” support from manufacturer, and no compensation to warranty claims.
  Electric bikes, y ahhh!!

Ya.  I stopped in there on Thursday morning.  The girls said no bargains to be had and all employees shifting to Vancouver.
