Does anyone happen to have an inductive pickup timing light that I can borrow?  I can’t get my old hardwired timing light onto the #2 or #3 spark plugs because of how they are situated in the CB750.

I had done a static timing but wanted to make sure it was dead on with a timing light.  And dammit, one thing leads to another.  I started it up, but it seemed a bit off.  Wouldn’t you know it, #3 isn’t firing.  There’s fuel in the bowl and there is spark, but no fire.  Exhaust pipe is cold.  Dammit, carbs have to come off…again. 

But I can still check the dynamic timing if I can obtain an inductive timing light.

I have one Ross - not 100% sure it works but it did the last time I used it (sometime in the last couple of years).  Not sure when I'll be out for coffee next though...

I won’t be at coffee tomorrow guys.  Came down with a plague Friday evening and am still really sick.  It’ll take a while to get over this one.

   That bug is going around. I caught it in Mexico, developed into walking pneumonia.

   Eat raw garlic.

Finally feeling mostly back to normal.  Washed the Yamaha this morning and tried once again to get #3 cylinder on the CB750 to fire.  I think there’s an obstruction in the pilot system in the carb body.  Double dammit.

Will insure the Yamaha tomorrow and ride it to coffee on Sunday.
