On this date in 1969, THE GUESS WHO released the single LAUGHING (Jun 24, 1969)

A Number One hit in their native Canada, LAUGHING was written by Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings during their brief collaboration together in The Guess Who.

The song also reached #10 on the United States' Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's second single to reach the Top 10 on the latter. It became their second of three gold records in the United States.

I love the Guess Who.  I used to listen to Randy's program on CBC for quite a few years until he was cancelled.

Here is another great Canadian singer/songwriter, with a husky sounding voice.  She "borrowed" this song from another well known singer and made it famous.

Today is a BC singer who came to my attention back in the 70's, but never really made it big.  His song seems very appropriate for his voice on this Hank Williams classic.

This guy has always inspired me.  He had perhaps the greatest male voice of the 20th century.  He sang at full throttle and hit every note perfectly.  In this song he sings about the ups and downs of life and how to accept it philosophically.
