One of the most famous riffs in rock history from one of the oldest active rock guitarists going.  Happy Birthday to you!!

December 18, 1971, T-Rex achieved it's 1st Number 1 album in the UK, with Electric Warrior. Helping this album's #1 status was the #1 single " Bang A Gong" [Get It On].

Here they are on Top of the Pops. Note, pianist Elton John.

A couple of great tunes by the Stones. Whenever I listen to “Start Me Up” I wonder which one of them ever rode a motorcycle. The T Rex tune had me thinking, yes I do that sometimes, about the British glam rock era, and this band. Saw them on Top of the Pops back in 73, and a couple of months later they played at one of London’s many entertainment locations, think it may have been Earls Court. Of course we went, and it was great, very entertaining band with lots of energy. The lead vocalist has a very memorable voice.    https://youtu.be/eEv6jy_7PQQ?si=5cYhGiBV6V0a-v4k

I've posted this song before, but hey!  It's Christmas and there aren't a lot of great Christmas songs.  This is one of my top six, from back in the 70's.  Some nice sax in it.

This Christmas song brings back memories.  I played the lead in a play about the song when I was about 6 yrs old.  This version is a bit better than mine was.

This singer was popular with the parents.  Here is probably his most listened to song.

This one makes my top six list.  A great talent that unfortunately died young.

This group was popular in the late 70's.  They did a pretty good job on some Christmas songs.

This song takes me back to my high school days.  It's a nonsensical ditty sung by a singer with very little vocal range.  But it kind of sticks to you.
