From the Stones latest album, the last track is the best. Goes back to their roots, the blues. Kind of takes me back 60 years. Love it.     https://youtu.be/Q2tbVRYwl-E?si=uUeZEGf7n7Zt_XvF

December 5, 2023, this afternoon, RIP Denny Lane at 79, after a battle ILD, [Interstitial Lung Disease]. Co-founder of The Moody Blues in 1964, and Wings in 1970.

Here's his reprise singing of "Go Now" which he composed entirely.

I'm impressed by Mick's voice.  Still hanging in there at 80.  Most people that age would be embarrassed to sing.

Sad to hear about Denny.

This group was huge in the 60's.  They brought a new sound to rock music.  Country!

This group started off singing easy listening country rock but they hired a rock guitarist and got a lot more mainstream R&R.  Here is a hit after the switch.

I'm not sure how to classify this song.  It was a big hit back in the 70's but I don't think the singer followed up with anything significant.

This famous singer/songwriter was shot on this day in 1980.  It's ironic that he was killed violently when he spent so much of his time pursuing peace and love.  Here is one of his best songs.

I missed this guy's birthday yesterday.  He was a great blues singer who had a hard time keeping his peeter in his pants.  But what a voice!

This unique voiced overlooked musician is Canadian.  He still plays and performs.  Here is his best known song.

Classic Led Zep tune off their fourth album. Notable for Page on the Mandolin, and Robert Plant doing a duet with his friend Sandy Denny. He has done this song with other female artists over the years, like Allison Krause, but this one is a classic.     https://youtu.be/X_AfMHCVoxA?si=oGSQsrd27RiGAhHb

Fairport Convention, was Sandy Denny’s band back then. Kind of a folk rock kind of thing going on. She sure had a beautiful voice, and when I’m in the car I will sometimes play one of her albums through.Easy listening for sure. She passed at a young age, but she lives on through music.         https://youtu.be/QHFhRxSL1AU?si=2Gm1LEQXwAaUPqvk

With Richard Thompson, the guy who composed and sang 1952 Vincent Black Lightening.  She was great.  He was also great but I think he had an ego.

Here's a birthday girl today, singing one of her best known songs from the sixties.  Everyone still plays it around this time of the year.  Her voice still has it.

This is a great band that had some huge hits back in the 70's.  They still play but a couple of members are no longer alive.  This song speaks about looking back at one's youth.

This is one of the best rock and roll songs ever.  And it's the only one by this band that I like.  I can't think of a song with more energy than this one.

December 15, 1944, band leader Glen Miller died  when the Westland Lysander he was in crashed over the English Channel heading to France.

Here’s his most noteworthy song, recognized as one of the most historic 100 songs in Western Culture, “In the Mood”.

I think I posted that song a year or so ago.  I'm a fan of Glenn Miller.  Too bad he crashed.

This is another well written one hit wonder about a guy who finds a girl's phone number written on the bathroom wall and he is deciding whether to call her.
