This song may be better known by the cover done by the Beatles.  But it was first performed by Chan Romero.  Here is the Beatles cover.

Here's a song from the 60's.  It has a very pompous intro but it's a good song from a group that was popular back then.

November 24, 1973, Ringo Starr's single "Photograph" , from his self titled album reached #1 on the Billboard 100, remaining there for a week.

This is a neat compilation which includes live entries of George Harrison's son, as George was a co-writer of this song:

I think that came from Concert for George.  Notice Eric Clapton playing rhythm along with George's son.  I really enjoy that song because it sounds like Ringo was singing about George having died.  But it was almost 30 years before George left us.  Apparently Ringo was the unofficial Beatles photographer....he recently published a book of photos he took during their years together.

Here is a singer better known for another song he performed.  But I like this one too.

This is someone few people know or have heard.  He's Canadian, from Nfld and died a couple of years ago.  The song is about a woman whose husband did what most men do in Nfld...go to sea to earn a living.  She wants her son to stay at home, but he wants to see the world.

Speaking of Nfld musicians, here's another group, not well known outside of the Rock, but excellent musicians.

This group was huge in the mid 70's, pumping out hit after hit.  But by around 1980 they were done.  Here is one of their hits.

This singer had several hits in the 70's before falling into drug addiction.  With the help of close friends like Linda Rondstat he recovered and began writing and singing again.  Then he was diagnosed with terminal cancer.  He was around for a couple of years after that, and this was a song he wrote that I think we all would like to have sung at our funeral.

This singer/songwriter died in 2001 after a huge career with several bands and as a solo artist.  He organized the first charity concert ever played.  His songs are among the best ever played.  This song was written when he was still a band member but wasn't recorded until after the band split up.  It's one of he best.

She is retired now but she sang some great songs in her day.  I really like the rough edge on the lead guitar in this song.

Michael Jackson wowed everybody with his moon walk and other moves, but there was a singer even better than him for dancing while moving.

December 3, 2023, today, a sad RIP to Myles Goodwyn, lead singer of great Canadian rock group April Wine. Classic rock voice!

I grew up listening to these guys, and are responsible for most of my speeding tickets as a teenager.

  Here’s their Greatest Hits Album:

I saw that news today.  75 is way too young to die.  I never bought their albums but I listened to their music.

I watch this movie once or twice every year.  Makes me feel young again.

December 3, 1969, Neil Diamond was a live guest on the NBC show Music Scene, where he performed a highly memorable version of ‘Holly Holy’. Turn the volume up on this.

How could a band that produced a song like this one be a one hit wonder?
