This group was composed of a couple of members of older groups.  They were together for a few years in the 70's.  This is one of their more well known songs.

This Canadian group was big in the 70's.  Lots of electricity in their songs.  This one is particularly electric.

  A bit late but,,,,,
November 2, 1980, Donny Iris & The Cruisers released "Ah Leah".

Chart (1980–81)   Peak
position
Australian (Kent Music Report)[5]   34
Canada RPM[4]   6
US Billboard Hot 100[6]   29
US Billboard Mainstream Rock   19
US Cash Box Top 100[7]   22

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i19DrZUr7u0  Live
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YH5Arbm47IQ  Studio Recording

In popular culture, because of Donny Iris's background in Pittsburgh,
The song has become the unofficial anthem of the city of Pittsburgh and remains a staple on local radio stations alongside Iris's other hit songs such as The Rapper and Love is Like a Rock.[2] It has also made appearances involving Pittsburgh's sports teams, including by the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park and used as bumper music by NBC whenever the Pittsburgh Steelers play on NBC Sunday Night Football.

This is another Canadian band.  Their lead singer died recently but I think they're still touring.

Miles Goodwin and the boys. I liked their music and roadied for them when they came to Montreal in the early 70’s. Attended a few shows on PEI in ‘72 but that is another story completely!

November 8th, 1961, The Tokens released " A Lion Sleeps Tonight".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZgI4DdINQLQ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRA7uIOi1Iw  Live.

The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is a song originally written and recorded by Solomon Linda[2] under the title "Mbube"[3] for the South African Gallo Record Company in 1939. Linda's original was written in Zulu, while the English version's lyrics were written by George David Weiss.
Influential disc jockey Murray the K pushed "Tina," but once a New England DJ started playing the B-side on the air, "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" started its climb to the #1 position, hitting the top of the charts in the Christmas holidays of 1961-62.
The run at #1 for "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" was interrupted by a unique event: the return to #1 by Chubby Checker's "The Twist" 17 months after it hit the top spot on the Hot 100 for the first time.
Thanks to its use in the The Lion King, in America, the Tokens version of the song was re-released in 1994, going to #51. Unusually, it was not included on the soundtrack album.

I love the Tokens' song!  The singing conveys a lot of emotion, which for me is essential in a good song.  Like this one.

This is a Beatles cover of an old song from the early 50's.  Paul really lets it all hang out in singing this one.  It's live, which adds to the emotion.

This young man left the world too soon, just as his music hit the radio airwaves, he was gone.  The day the music died.        https://youtu.be/XLrnU1K2Wso?si=Nvx1vRtDDOobxIRU

Mason Williams' song "Classical Gas" (1968) played by Tommy Emmanuel:
A lot of sound for one man and one guitar!

I think that should be re-titled "Classical Jazz Gas"!

This group had two periods of success.  One was in the 1960's and the other was in the 1970's.  This particular song was used in the comedy movie "Airplane" which I found to be very funny.

November 11, 1975, Chicago released it's compilation album, "Chicago IX: Chicago's Greatest Hits". It included all of Chicago's biggest hits to date, from their 1969 debut thru to 1974's " Chicago VII. The album reached #1 on the US Billboard, and remained on the top 100 for 72 weeks. Their second #1 album. Double platinum.

"Feelin' Stronger Every Day" is off of the album of the same name from 1973.
