Nice version of Woodstock!

I followed this band back in the day...really liked their tune selection.  This is a cover of an old Don Gibson song...very well done I think.

I liked that song but Sweetums couldn't stand it.

If you like harmony in a song this is as good as it gets.  Apparently they did many takes to get it right.

Randy played with some of my favourite bands.  Ricky Nelson’s Stone Canyon Band, Poco, Linda Ronstadt, and was a founding member of the Eagles.  All of the Eagles base players came from Poco.  First Randy Meisner, then J. D. Souther, and finally Timothy B. Schmit.

For sure Poco and the Eagles are at the top of my favourites list.

  The early years of the Eagles were for me the best. The country rock theme is where Randy and JD were most comfortable, they did not like the move to rock.

  My favorite Eagles song is a very early on sung my Randy Meisner, "Try and Love Again". Don Henley stated that Randy's voice was angelic, one of the greatest in rock history. I'll let you decide:

This song was originally done by Big Joe Turner around the beginnings of rock and roll.  Lots of horns.  

I didn't hear it until it was covered by this group in the 70's.  I saw them in Thunder Bay back around 1978.  At that time Jane Vasey was on keyboards and I remember being fascinated by how well she played.  She passed away several years later from leukemia and was replaced.  The band still tours today.

This pop singer died 49 years ago.  Legend has it that she choked on a sandwich.  Legend is incorrect.  She died of a heart attack.
