Cory Wells passed in 2015. Drummer, Canadian Floyd Sneed, recently passed Jan 2023. Keyboardist Jim Greenspoon passed in 2015. Basist Joe Schermie passed in 2002. Chuck is still kicking, but no longer active in TDN. Irishman Danny Hutton still leads Three Dog Night today.
Here's Danny's lead vocal capabilities. LIVE of course:

Yeah, TDN is fantastic, one of the best bands back then for sure. Yesterday morning a couple of tracks shuffled through my play list, and got to thinking of bands from Oz. We all know the usual, like the BGs and AC/DC. But how about these guys, first international hit for a band from down under. https://youtu.be/dnqxbdnzlhw

Then there is this band, had a sweet sound back in the late 70’s. https://youtu.be/XBETVhHpcPk

And then this group had a few hits as well. Not too keen on them, but this one is a good one, maybe the only one of theirs I like.   https://youtu.be/AIBv2GEnXlc

I didn't know INXS was from Oz.  This is a song by them in the 90's that caught my ear.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hv_zJrO_ptk

Back to the late 70's...there was an explosion of Southern rock and country bands like Marshall Tucker, Charlie Daniels and a couple of others.  This was a song that I enjoyed back then.

Crowded House, love 'em. Midnight Oil, Love 'em, although I do not agree with the theme of that particular song. . Didn't know Easy Beats were Australian??

I'll place my vote onto Men at Work:

On this date in 1971, THREE DOG NIGHT released the single LIAR (Jul 10, 1971)

NOTE: I've partially restored this rare TV clip that was in very poor condition, removing the time codes, sharpening the picture and improving the color.

Written by Russ Ballard of Argent from their 1970 self-titled debut album, LIAR was covered by THREE DOG NIGHT and released as a single the following year.

Argent, a band known for their innovative compositions, first introduced "Liar" in their 1970 debut album. The song, despite its compelling narrative and intricate composition, didn't quite catch the public's attention. But when Three Dog Night decided to put their spin on it, the song found its true calling.

Three Dog Night's rendition, with Danny Hutton's distinctive vocals at the helm, was a sonic revelation. The song climbed to #7 on the U.S. Billboard chart and ascended to #4 in Canada in 1971. This wasn't just a commercial success, but a testament to the band's ability to reinterpret and reinvent.

Danny Hutton's contribution to "Liar" was pivotal. His vocals, both raw and refined, added a new dimension to the song, transforming it from a forgotten track into a memorable hit.

"Liar" is a reminder of Three Dog Night's musical prowess and their knack for reimagining music. It's a tribute to their ability to create engaging, enduring music that doesn't just chart, but leaves a lasting impression.

Back in my university days I didn't have a lot of money but I spent a lot of time in record shops looking at new groups.  This group came on the scene, and even though I was poor I still bought their album.
