Country singers are good story tellers so country music usually tells a story.  This is one of the great ones.

This group had a bunch of hits in the 80's.  Their music was eccentric but very listenable.

Always liked Ten Years After - I hope the bassist got paid at least time-and-a-half for this effort.  Grin

Winnipeg proud.   I literally grew up with this stuff, burned many tires, much 2 stroke gasoline, many campfires. This is the best of The Guess Who.

That was a very energetic bass player!

Funny thing about the Guess Who.  They played all over Saskatchewan when I was a teenager but I never saw them ever.  My loss!

This group were once thought to be the Beatles in disguise.  Their music was kind of spacey, but it fit the times I guess.  Here is a medley of their hit.  It's better known by a cover done by Karen Carpenter.

Back in 73, a buddy and I bought a VW van to travel the UK and Europe. It had a radio that didn’t work and a tape deck that did. After a few days of driving, we decided to buy a couple of casettes for the deck. Funny how the brain works, I don’t remember much anymore, but remember those tapes, we bought 4 to start. Honky Chateau by Elton John, DeJaVu by CSNY, Living in the past by Tull, and this recently released album. At first we were not to keen on it, but it grew on us and has some great tracks, like this one.      https://youtu.be/dRnKvXqti6M

Master of understatement!  Led Zep!

This band was popular in the late 60's and early 70's.  A great stage band and a great band to dance to.  This song is an oldie but played by them much later in their career.  Old Mitch still had the voice.

I had to reach back to the 1940's for this song, by a singer whose message was always intertwined with his emotions.  This is perhaps his best song of many fine hits.

This guy is a great song writer as well as a great guitarist.  This is one of his best songs in my view, with a deep message for all of us.  In essence he's saying to be happy with what you have.

This guy had a unique voice.  Over the decades his popularity only increased.  A movie has been made about his life.  This is maybe his most famous song.

One hit wonders.  There were a lot in the 60's.  Zager and Evans comes to mind.  But this one, early in the 60's was a raging hit.  Unfortunately the band could never follow up on it.
