Edward James "Son" House Jr. (1902-1988) "Preachin Blues" was recorded and released in 1930. Larkin Poe covered the song on their album Peach in 2017:

I liked the guitar work, particularly the "slide", but the singing was uninspiring.  I didn't hear much emotion in it.


It's funny to see these guys today, fifty years after they were the best band on the planet.
