The Hollies, performing one of the greatest pop songs ever, with Alan Clarke again up front.      https://youtu.be/Jl5vi9ir49g

Billie Preston was on that roof top with the Beatles. He did a lot of work with them over the years, and had a successful solo carer as well. This is one of his more popular songs, I think its pretty good.        https://youtu.be/I_e-RQZVwxg

Billy Preston was key to the concert on the roof because the Beatles wanted to do it live, which meant they needed someone to play piano and organ.  Both John and Paul could play but they had to play their respective guitars.

I think I posted this some time ago, but it's worth a second listen.  It's Billy playing at the Concert for George, where all of the songs were Georges.  But I think Billy did a masterful job with this one.

Al Wilson of Canned Heat is another member of the 27 club.

Sticking with the Beatles....this song may be the best demonstration of their ability to harmonize.  It's on Revolver, precursor to Sgt Peppers.

This is a very energetic song from the 70's by a reasonably successful group.

This guy isn't one of my favourite rockers but he's a pretty good song writer and in this case he's singing with a great band.  From 1978...

This guy has a decades long history as a recording engineer and producer, including Beatles and Pink Floyd.  Back in the day he recorded this song that was quite popular, but he never pursued singing or recording much further, sticking with working on other bands' albums.  He recently celebrated his 74th birthday.

Doctor and The Medics covered it.

The original is good but I like the video for some reason.

Mariah sings what is now considered THE Christmas song, but for decades this is the one I listened to.

This group figured out that successful bands are those who stand out in a crowd.
