One of my favourite songs from the 60's.  Great harmony.

I had the album this song came from back in the day.  It's a protest song, and the only song on the album that I liked.

Very early Chicago.  Pre - Setara.

"Beginnings".  Live of course, July 21st, 1970, Lenox, Mass.

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pizRRft3_8Y

  Lovely bit of brass work.

One of the very rare times I admit to the studio soundtrack of a song being superior. This is a 2002 remaster of the original of Beginnings by Chicago.  Astounding drums. Brass work is fantastic.. Late percussion is very cool.  It brings up conversations on early versus later Chicago.

I've been a huge Beatles fan for many years.  The amazing songwriting duo of Lennon/McCartney is perhaps the most successful in history.  But as the Beatles moved from early days to their final years George became probably the better songwriter, and later as a solo performer he had some of his most outstanding songs.  This is one of them.

This song came out around 1975.  I thought it was a great one...due to be highly played.  But it wasn't.  Looks like I was one of a few people who liked it.

This guy was at the core of rock and roll for his entire career.  I could have picked any one of a dozen of his songs, but I think this one defines the genre best.

She was a country singer/songwriter with few equals.  She spanned many decades with many hits.  She died today.

Sometimes when someone covers another’s music, it isn’t as good, but occasionally the reverse happens. As good, if not better. Here is Chicago’s cover of a Steve Winwood classic, longer, but much more layered with percussion, horns and keyboards.      https://youtu.be/WM6l7twOfso

I didn't realize that Winwood was part of Spencer Davis, who did the better known version of that song.

I'm not sure if this is a disco or reggae song.  The words talk about being taken away from your home and trying to find the courage to sing about one's god.

I always felt this group had a really "tight" sound.  I think they're still together.

This guy had a pretty good career going before he joined the Eagles.  Still going strong.
