Love the sound of good horns.  I have a Glen Miller album among the vinyl discs I invested in back in the day.  Here is an example from my first "Direct to Disc" album.
Thelma Houston and Pressure Cooker.  The horns from this album got me started on Jazz.

With a really good turn table, needle, amp and speakers you feel like you are in the room.  Like Led Zeppelin, my first vinyl was Stairway to Heaven, it helps to crank the volume (been a long time).  Looking back I have great empathy on my neighbors who endured "Rocking Out" after the bars closed.

Horns. I had some older brothers and a sister when I was growing up. They bought lots of 45's and it left quite an impression. One day when I was about 8 years old my sister took me to a cafe on the main drag of Sidney where she was meeting her friends. There was a big colourful Wurlitzer jukebox there and she plugged in some change and told me I could make a selection. I chose this one.

This is a cover of an Elton John song that brings the words of the song new meaning.

This is a song by Queen.  It shows Freddie as a showman every bit as good as Mick Jagger.  Brian May, the lead guitarist is a PhD physicist who made his own guitar (the one he's playing) at the age of 16.

Yes!  It's too bad Roy passed away so young.  They might have produced a lot more music.  I listen to the Beatles a lot and lately have realized how important George was to that group.  Everyone talks about Lennon/McCartney songwriting but George wrote songs too.  Lennon's were more political (Revolution) while McCartney's were upbeat (When I'm 64) but George's were very introspective, like Across the Universe or Something.  That's very much what he brought to the Travelling Wilburys.

This is a great song to run to.  It's hard to forget it if you were into 60's rock music.

This was a voice that sent chills up my spine when she hit the high notes towards the end of the song.  I am looking forward to moving past, or living with a better covid world:  "Things are gonna get easier,  things'll get brighter."

Deep Purple. One of the great bands of the 60s/70s. 50 years ago Machine Head hit the record store shelves, and made its way to my record shelf. Played loud, none better. Saw them live in 74, pretty good. I chose a song that’s not the big one that we all know from the album, but still one of my favourites. Steve has mentioned them in the past, so here you go.           https://youtu.be/hNZPNv0Df9c

The lead singer of this group, Gary Brooker was reported dead today.  Here is one of his finer vocal demonstrations.

Very good, I'd not heard that before.   Done the right way, slow tempo until the bridge, and the drop off at the end.   Sublime.
