Saw Edgar Winter Group live back in 74, one of the more memorable concerts. Keyboard slung over his neck with Rick Derringer on guitar. Of course Frankenstein was the big hit back then too. Seem to recall it was a short concert, but still a good show.

When this group put out their first Dee Doo Doo Doo record in the late '70's I thought they were just another version of bubble gummer music.  I was wrong of course, just as I was wrong when the first McDonalds came to Saskatoon in 1968 and I proclaimed that they wouldn't last because they didn't have car window service like A&W.  Here is a song from a bit later.

OMG I haven't heard that song for 100 years. Great stuff .
My father hated that kind of music ( Rolling Stones, Doors, Animals etc) so I'd turn up the volume just to irritate him.

We used to dance to Animals songs at high school dances.  That was a tough one to dance to!  Too slow for a fast dance and too fast for a huggie dance.  I like the simple drum kit!

I have a couple of Hollies songs on my phone.  Graham Nash was the heart of the group, and when he jumped to CSN&Y the Hollies were no more.  Nash has a nice singing voice that really mixes well with the other voices in CSN.

This one takes the energy level down a couple of notches.  The combination of Art's voice and Paul's lyrics led to some of the most important songs of the 60s and 70's.  After they broke up Paul went on to do more great work in the 80s and 90s, including collaborations with other singers.  Art went on to....not so much.

This is one of the groups Paul Simon worked with in his later recordings.  I have a lot of their music on my phone.  There's something about african music that appeals to the ear.
