When I watched that clip, I did like his version, but couldn't help but think of "Two Lane Blacktop". Taylor and one of the Beach Boys brothers driving across the States in an old Chevy. Great movie in its day, but like so many from back then doesn't seem to hold up well to todays standards.

It's like Vanishing Point or Easy Rider.

You need the proper chemical assistance for it to be a decent movie.

At least Two-Lane Blacktop had a good soundtrack.

Jackson Brown.

This was recorded on a bus.  If you listen you can hear the engine.  Base drum was a cardboard box with a foot pedal.  From the album Running on Empty.

The Band had a unique musical style, not seen before they appeared and not seen since.  Part of their appeal was Levon Helm's singing.  He had a Southern voice that expressed emotions in every piece he sang.  Here's one of the Band's best, and Levon's too.

I heard the other day that Aaron Neville is retiring from touring.  Too bad!  What a terrific voice!  Here he is singing a duet with another terrific voice.  I don't know that they go well together but individually.....can't find any better male or female singers.

This band put out a lot of songs in the 70's.  I have most of them on my phone because they're good running songs.  But this one....listen to the harmonys'

I've been listening to some covers lately. Liked this one by a herring-choker covering a Boss tune.  Cool

Great song!  When you look at the size of his paws on that narrow neck you have to wonder why he never gave up on guitar.

I listened to this song a few weeks ago.  Did not realize it was Paul McCartney.  Apparently he wrote it as a tribute to his time there with his wife Linda.  If you like bagpipes this is a song for you.  Personally I think it's the same sound you get from bricking a cat's testicles.

The early '70's was a period where good bands were breaking up with band members finding other good band members and forming super groups.  CSN&Y was one....a damn fine one.  Their harmonies were hard to beat.  I think Graham Nash, formerly the lead singer of the Hollies fit in perfectly with Crosby and Stills.  Young came after and couldn't seem to get along with Stills, with whom he had worked in Buffalo Springfield.

This is one of CSN&Y's best harmonies.

He started the revolution back in 1954 with this hit combining gospel and blues along with a set of swivel hips.  There was nobody like him and there probably never will be.

Officially a Beatles tune but it was written and sung by George.  Frank Sinatra covered it and was heard to say "That Lennon & McCartney are great songwriters!"

When I listen to the words I can hear George's passion for his lover, especially in the bridge.

Perhaps the best song on Abbey Road.
