It was this or grunge music in the 90's and I didn't like wearing flannel, smelling bad and staring at my shoes at parties.

This was the song that started the rock and roll revolution.

Magnificent album!  Around 1972 I think.  It brings back memories of visiting Niagara Falls in the winter and driving back on the QEW.  It was on that stretch that Tim Horton crashed his corvette trying to beat the team bus back to Toronto.

Around that time I was heavy into folk music.  This guy visited Toronto (Yorkville) back when it was just becoming fashionable.  I want to see him and began following his music.  This is not a song from that era but it's timely for us old gumps.

Funny, I've been on a bit of a Scott Walker kick lately and liked his cover of this Tom Rush tune.

Man that guy had a low voice!  Loved the song Glenn.

Here is one that was redone a couple of years ago but I still prefer the original from 1928.  I remember hearing this song on my parent's radio back as a child.

This group knocked the Beatles out of #1 spot back in 1964.  They were very tight together and had a powerful drummer.

This lady had one of the purest singing voices of all time.  Tragically she died in a plane crash in the 1960's.  This was one of her greatest hits.

A great blues singer from the '60's.  He also did a marvellous version of Sugar Sugar, by the Archies.  But this one is vintage!

Given there is only one day left to file your taxes I thought this song was appropriate.  The story I heard is that George Harrison received a cheque for a million pounds but only received 50 thousand, which the rest went to tax.  So he wrote the song.

These guys have been around since the early 1960's and still tour today, although they cancelled their last tour due to covid.  I remember high school dances where the bands played this song and everyone would be up dancing.  It's perhaps their greatest tune, among many hits.

For you blues lovers, here's a song featuring Taj Mahal playing Statesboro Blues.  The slide guitar is none other than Ry Cooder, who in my view ranks up there with Hendrix, Clapton and Jeff Beck as one of the greatest guitar players ever.
