Yes but bands like the Stones can't write new material because the fans don't care about the new material.

Stones fans just want to hear Brown Sugar over and over.

Not saying they're not good, they've just become a bit of a living joke.

Personally I prefer their earlier stuff, like Jumpin Jack Flash or Satisfaction.  But you're right that they showcase their old songs in a sassy way.  I don't think they've written anything new for quite a while.  Last one I remember is Undercover of the Night, written in the '80's.

AGE is a matter of mind over matter.  If you don't mind, it don't matter.

This one always brings a lump to my throat.  If you like fine guitar picking and motorcycles it's a song for you.

Here is a song by one extremely versatile but weird, perhaps even a little sick dude.  I never really appreciated his music enough when he was alive.

This is on my phone.  I like to listen to it while running.  A classic song from the big band era.  Superb melody.

In 1995 I travelled to S Africa to visit several mines.  While in Johannesburg I visited a music store with the intent of bringing home some popular African music.  One of the bands they suggested was Johnny Clegg & Juluka.  The store allowed me to listen to one of Juluka's albums, and I bought it and brought it back to my home in Timmins.  By way of description, Johnny Clegg was a white S African that totally "got" the African culture and music.  One of his best known songs is this one, also on the album.  The accompanying video explains what I mean.

Another song that caught my ear while in South Africa was this one...by Ladysmith Black Mambazo but sung by Sharon Katz & the Peace Train.  It's a song sung by miners on their way to work, called Shosholoza.  The original by Ladysmith is much slower, which is why I prefer this version.

This second one is a Gerry Garcia tune.  All acoustic.

A lot of songs from rock's golden era contained a high level of energy.  Few of them matched this song.

Thought about this song today.  Cold, drizzley sleet today.

Never tried copy/paste with my phone before.  Hope it works.
