This was the beginning of a huge change in musical direction for this Nobel winning songwriter.  He was known as a folk singer until he teamed up with The Band and went electrical.  The song was popular in 1966 but I remember it from 1967 as a high school student working at the local fairground during the summer.

I agree with your assessment 100%, but the song selection was more great drumming than great guitar.   Maybe this one instead?

I only have a couple of songs by this artist on my phone.  He was totally original, and inspirational to many artists who followed him.  This song comes from the '60's.

Great Guitar players, seems to be lots of opinions, but this guy was certainly one of the very best. Formed a band with his brother, but results were hard to come by. He was killed in a motorcycle accident at 24, but his legacy lives on today. The band carried on without him, having a few minor hits over the years. Today I learned something interesting.  It's a Fender guitar modification called a B bender.  It makes the guitar change notes like a pedal steel.  This is a song that was recorded with a B Bender.  Great song, great group.

I've never figured out why this album became so popular in the mid '70's.  Maybe it was because everyone I knew (including me) bought a copy and played it endlessly, listening to the words and laughing at the humour.  The singer was a huge man who looked more like a football lineman than a rock and roller.  But how he could sing! He died yesterday so from now on he'll be singing in heaven.

Here is a song from the 70's.  It's a catchy tune that reminds me of the 60's bubble gum songs by the 1910 Fruit Gum Company, but this band is a bit better.
