Sundays are easy days and this song is an easy one.  It's from the 1920's, sung by Eddie Van Halen.

This group was popular back in the 60's and has remained together despite losing a couple of members over the years.  This song reminds me of my first mining job with INCO in N Manitoba because the song was played endlessly on the radio back then.

Today's song is by a group who I think are still performing.  They have an amazing live show but had few top hits.  This is one of them.

When this first came out I thought it would be a hit.  I was wrong, but it's still a really nice song.

This was a nice relaxing song from the 70's.  I haven't heard the singer for a long time...I think he retired from touring.  He had an excellent voice for R&R.

This 60's song has been stuck in my head all night.  It was quite popular back then, as was the group.  The lyrics are a tale of fantasies that we all have when young but seem to get lost when we are adults.

This group were masters with lyrics.  In this song they describe a trend towards phony rejection of the north american lifestyle.  The melody is not too bad also.

Yesterday was a day of disappointment as Donald Trump slapped 25% tariffs on the best friend and ally the US has ever had.  One wonders how he will treat others if that's what he does to his friends?  In the last few hours there have been many significant acts of patriotism and hopefully there will be many more.  I for one plan to avoid buying US made products whenever possible.  So today is a day to celebrate Canadian musicians.  I think this song is right up there as a Canadian made product.

I've been reading many of the comments that follow news stories about the tariffs.  The vast majority they are telling Trump to "Get stuffed".  Many of the comments were from Americans who were urging us to retaliate and teach that bugger lesson in diplomacy.  This will be an interesting time for world trade.

I agree Ron.  I should make it clear that I'm not dissing Americans.  Heck, I have a lot of relatives scattered across about a dozen states.  I understand why people would boo the American anthem but I wouldn't do it myself because I think it represents something much greater than one man.  My schtick is to be Pro Canadian!  And on that theme, this is another pretty successful Canadian singer/songwriter that expresses what many Canadians are feeling right now.

I don't know how many of you follow stock markets, but for me it's a significant source of dividend income.  It's my income source for motorcycle fun.  Here is a song from the 1929 market crash that describes how I feel righ tnow.

This singer/songwriter had a long and successful career.  He had far more popular songs than this one but this song was a tribute seems appropriate given the tariff war with the US.

This ranks as one of the strangest rock songs to make it to radio play.  I remember listening to it back in the day.
