I remember the song on the radio...one of my favourites.  Ladysmith did a really nice cover that I've posted in the past.

Here is another country song where the lyrics are the most important part of the song.  The song is a story about a woman whose husband is messing around and the woman is afraid he will leave her.  It set this country star on the road to success.

At some point in the 70's country music began to change.  The genre began to sound more like rock and roll.  Here is an example from a well known southern US group.

I listened to a lot of Bob Seger back in the '70's.  He was once caught speeding on Hwy 17 in NW Ontario.  They found some marijuana in his vehicle and charged him for that too.

This is a cover of a Bob Dylan song from the sixties.  It marked a turn in music to a more sophisticated sound and influenced George Harrison to buy a 12 string Rickenbacker.

I've been away for a couple of days.  Went to a funeral in Regina.  Funerals remind me that we aren't getting any younger.  We have to enjoy our time here.  That's the theme of this song.
