Back in the good old days I was playing a lot of Cream and Traffic, two of my favorite bands. This group is a combo of those two, with Baker, Clapton and Windwood. Made one album before splitting, but to me its a good one and worth listening to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJJnA6zEcGk

Emerson Lake and Palmer were another of my go to groups for easy listening. Two of my favorite songs were "In the Beginning" and "Lucky Man". I saw them Live at Wembley back in 74, and at the time it was the best show I had been to. And that includes the Who, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and a bunch of others I can't remember, though that is all my fault. Both Keith Emerson and Gregg Palmer are gone now, and when I listen to one of those tracks I go back to that day in 74. Day after I had to go to the Doctor, apparently music was too loud. Go figure, isn't that what its all about.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5IdH7C7oWY

About 8 yrs ago or so, was working at the shop around 6 or 6 30. On the radio it said first person to the stadium gets two tickets toEmerson Lake and Palmer..... hopped on my bicycle locked the gate, pedaled like mad to stadium and skidded up to the Radio Booth..  it took me like 4 or 6 minutes. Evil.
Called the wife and she came down just in time.
It was very good I thought given their ages..  I think they played about 3 to 3.5 hours. .. with one short break I think..
I was impressed it was great...

The lead singer sounded like another well known singer but not from AC/DC.  I couldn't quite figure out who.

This is one of the first songs I ever heard by Aerosmith, back around 1975.  They and the Rolling Stones should hold a contest for the ugliest lead singer.  But man....can those guys sing!  Tyler can still reach the high notes on Dream On.

I didn't know that...thought he was a Toronto guy.

Back in 1972 I lived in Hamilton and worked at the Westinghouse major appliance plant located at Aberdeen and Longwood Road.  I made dishwashers, clothes dryers and fridges.  All of the work was assembly line...very routine and very boring.  But it was money to live and money to drink at Paddy Green's pub, right next door.  This song became part of a nightly ritual where I would finish work, drink a couple of draught, eat supper and put on some Pink Floyd.  Just before this song started I would press a little hash between two hot knives and suck as much smoke as I possibly could.  Then lay down and listen.....

Neil was born in Hamilton.  But for many years he split his home between California, and Quebec where he’d spend the winter snowshoeing and cross country skiing.  And for many years, he’d ride his BMW GS between shows whether in Europe, North or South America.  Hundreds of thousands of miles in total.
