Grassroots were a good group.

A famous Canadian singer made a lot of money covering this song, by another famous singer, but not Canadian.  Happy Birthday Ken.

This was an interesting band from the 70's.  I didn't listen to them until after they broke up in the 80's, but I think this song stands the test of time.  I really like the background vocals.

This group had only a single hit.  The intro sounds a bit like Joe Walsh, but it changes after the first few bars.

In the early 1960's the Beatles did a lot of covers.  It makes sense.  They hadn't written very much themselves so they needed to do covers.  This group produced one of John Lennon's more memorable covers.

This hit was big enough back in the 60's to be voted into the R&R Hall of Fame.  The singer died yesterday.
