This song was a standard for bands at dances back in the day.  Every band in Saskatoon played it.

This guy had a bunch of hits back in the 60's, but not this song, although he does a great cover.

Late 60’s California group with great harmonies, and a bunch of hits. One of my favourite pop songs.       https://youtu.be/UzgpB9xpyT8.

The song I remember most by them was Windy.  It was the year I graduated from HS and the song was played pretty much every hour on most stations.

This song was written by Sylvia Tyson, who recorded it, but the best known version is this one.  Again, a HS hit.

John wrote the song but it was Ringo who inspired it with his title.

Speaking of Ringo....this is one of the few songs he wrote, with a little help from his friends.

Paul McCartney has produced hundreds of his own songs, or songs with John.  But he's also written several dozen at least for other musicians, including his good friend Peter Asher.  Here's a McCartney song given to another popular artist.

I can't think of any other music that people were more ready to listen to when this group hit the big time in the 60's.  It had a loose feel to it but damn they were tight!  Originally known as "The Crackers"!  Here is one of their well known hits.

I was listening to some of Ringo Starr's All Starr Band from 1989 last night.  Levon was one of the drummers and Rick Danko was the bass player.  Clarence Clemons played sax.  Some great music!

Some voices naturally blend together; Simon & Garfunkel, the Carpenters, the Everly Bros.. These three just sound great:

Any one of those three is a treat.  All of them together is like a savoy truffle!

I came across this song on Facebook today.  I thought I would share it.  It's an unusual combination of a great guitarist and a great jazz player in an interesting rendition of an old pop song.

I heard that this song was inspired by an actual event where a band member was chatting up a girl in a bar and her boyfriend pulled a gun.  Hence the "Give me three steps please." line in the song.
