Here is another 80's song that I like by a very good singer.  The band eventually fired him and he sank into obscurity.  The band kept going with a new singer and is still touring today, although with a lot of different members.

I first got interested in this band back in the early 70's.  I read about their album Bloodshot and took a chance on it.  That led to buying a couple more of their albums, including their most successful one in 1978.  But this one was always my favourite.  This song isn't typical of the band's sarcastic style but it's full of energy delivered with a bit of a reggae style.

There were a lot of singers back then that I didn't appreciate until much later.  Frampton was one of them.

I heard this song yesterday and it brought back a lot of memories.  The song was written by William Robinson, who gave it to this group to sing.  Wonderful suits!

A girl goes to a Don McLean concert where he plays American Pie.  She's just broken up with her BF and hears all of her emotions in his song.  She goes home and writes her own song to express how she felt.  The song became a hit for Roberta Flack.  This is the song, sung by the Fugees.
