I never did understand why anyone would use a photo-hosting service, when it is easier to post from your own computer, even when limited to three photos, in some cases.

I agree.

I like to use a hosting site because it also acts as a form of backup. Whenever a hard-drive crashes the first lament you will hear from people is the loss of their photographs. Sad

They're too expensive, you know how cheap I am. Hosting sites are free! Wink

What's to say the host site doesn't crash someday Shocked

You wish that you would have backed them up on a $5.00SD card Grin

Or you have an external hard drive that backs up everything on a schedule.    Retain your own images and your privacy.

Bingo! That is what my wife is doing now after a painful hdd failure. I always liked to use Photobucket because it was a good way to get around the size issue limitation that many forums have. The image that you get from a photo sharing site is much larger as well. All of my photos are still on Photobucket, I just can't share from there anymore. As I noted, I'm too cheap to subscribe, and you get what you pay for. Wink If I put things onto an sd card they would be lost in a matter of weeks, guaranteed!  Shocked
