Wow...look at you posting pics and everything....lol..
looks good Henry...shoot you will be buying a big GS1200 before you know it to hold all your fancy gadgets!!
My daughter gave me her old camera and its easier to transfer pics compared to my old one.
I really don't think I would want a 1200 with the type of riding Glen and I have been doing and besides I can buy 3 650 versys for 1 1200 GS .

That's a clean set up Henry. What did you use for the shield? what are you doing to power the GPS? I've got that Zuma 660 but haven't been motivated enough to throw it on the DR, sure would be useful though. Although the phone has a great backroads app on it, I think Glenn has a pretty nice Ram phone set up.

I used Lexan for the windshield and my power source will be a 5volt USB and 12 volt lighter.
5 volt will work for my GPS and Cell

That's a slick little power port.
I do love the RAM mounts, their stuff just works so well.

Yes, Ram mounts are very solid and easy to use. I have mounts for my Nuvi GPS and Spot Messenger 3. I'm considering picking up an x-grip for a 7 inch tablet, I hear there are some great apps for maps and tracking.

We're getting older Frank, sometimes we forget where we are so we have to check in with eye in the sky to help us remember.

My tablet has no GpS.. That I know of..
.but seriously..i have ben thru all the western states, here to mexico a couple times, Utah 4 times in the last decade..
And I still cant think of a situation where I needed a GPS..
We had a GPS n one of them trips in a truck, And I did not use it..was not driving.. But it ended up being the cause of a few fights.. Due to the lack of watching the actual rod and signage by the GPS user..

You might want to check out the RAM "Tab-lock". I have one for my 7" and I trust it a lot more than the X-grip units.

I use our GPS when the wife and I are touring and I'm coming into a decent size town or city, you can't look at a map and ride at the same time. And I'm sick of being out in the back woods, having to stop and stop and stop to look at either the map or the GPS/phone to see which logging road we were 'supposed' to take
It's like a honey comb back there

The last time Betty and I drove down to the coast, we tried the Golden Ears Bridge, just to see what it was like. Signage not great at the north end, so ended up on smaller roads......now, where the hell are we??
Raining like a bugger, low clouds, no sun. Could not see the mountains, did not have a compass, no map (crap, we lived in that area for almost ten years), no sun, so matchstick and watch trick would not work. For whatever reason, did not trust the "avenues are east/west, streets are north/south" rule.....most labelled as roads, anyway.
For the, so far, only time in my life, I said, gee, a GPS would be usefull.
Finally stopped at a little country store and asked which way was north.......embarrassing, I'm a guy, guys don't ask for directions......
