I just returned from a run to Revelstoke on my '06 Wee-Strom. 485 km round trip, and 63 MPG. Have yet to get less than 60 mpg. Great little bike. I call it Goldilocks. Not too big, not too small, not too heavy, etc, etc. Have yet to find I need more power, and it's also fine for two up. Yeh, I know it's NOT a classic bike (YET) but I still have the old 1980 GS-1000 with no plans to sell it yet. BUT riding modern sure does show the progress over the last 30 odd years.
Doesn't matter WHAT you ride, as long as you RIDE !!!

I feel the same way about my 650 Versys, plenty of power and fun to take off roads....
Seriously thinking about selling the ST that I have not riding since the Versys and buying a new 650 in the future.

What I meant was can or would you ride it 1300 or 2500 miles?
If you can ride as far as Ryan you may not need a big bike..

You better get on it Ryan, summer in Alberta could be over in the next day or two.

Put a new front tire on the 1000 V strom.
I think the front was original because it seemed like nothing had ever been apart before...? Tight beyond belief bolts/axle etc and had to make a 19mm Allen wrench for the axle. I understand the manufactures have liability Lawyer protecting the company but a 3' snipe on a 1/2 ratchet......come on...??

Congrats Shawn..
I take it the plan is to keep this one as an asset..and get rid of the high cost liability...
And you will live happily ever after.... Am I right?

Not sure what you mean about "high cost liability".
If you're referring to my Stelvio, I'm very happy with it at this point, it does everything I want it to do very well.
You have to understand, the bike, the company that made it and the company that sold it are three separate things. I love the bike, I dislike Piaggio (particularly the customer support dept) and, frankly, if Pacific Motosport were burning to the ground, I wouldn't even whizz on the fire to put it out.

It was a liability while you were unable to use it, meanwhile tour still had to pay..
I was guessing you were getting this, seeing if it's good and selling the Stelvio... Maybe I guessed wrong..

Nope.
Two completely different bikes for two completely different purposes.
Very happy with both.
