   ...your not gonna quit the club are you Al ?   ...I'm sure that Paul didn't mean that slam about your "carcass"..   ...he just got caught up in the moment...    ....you know what kind of relationship that some folks have with their motorcycles on this site....


   ...and do you have any more pictures of your girlfriend coming ?     ...at anybody ?..

   
   ...you might not wanna be too "nice" for a bit here Paul..    ..might work out to be a good "therapeutic" thing for ya..   ...although you probly oughta check with you Doctor first, like they say on the television.

Not to worried Al.Having taught firearms courses I reckognize a few things about this girl.Right off the bottom,er ,I meen top,she is shooting blanks.Something that I was sure you would notice Al so change up her    ammunition.Second off,she has no eye or ear protection.Who would let their girlfriend do that??Also,with her mouth hanging open like that m16's were known to eject the odd missfire which she could swallow,it could go of in twelve secons(You do know what I am saying here Al,Don't you)and her hair would come out in bangs.Another thing,I don't know what her hygenics are like but please don't let her sit on any of my bikes if she comes over.

Thats me 754,a true Brit.Born in Romford Essex.Came over on that big boat they got tied up in Los Angeleeeeez,the Queen Mary.Still have the steamer trunks,dinner menues ,passenger lists etc.English girls are known for their large capacity top ends,not so much their bottom ends and some were even known for bottom end failures,throwing out a rod etc.So till next time,Tally ho and all that rot mate.......

 Back in the day, when you cut the legs shorter on your jeans, did you just cut them, or hem them... Being proper and all... Wink

Pulled the rear portion of the exhaust system and rear wheel off the Concours.  Getting ready to replace rear tire, rear brake pads and lube up the drive gears in the rear hub drive.

So today I reluctantly gathered up some courage and got the old rear tire off the rim and replaced it with a new rubber loop.  I suspected it would be a battle ............ and of course it was. A 150/80 - 16" with rather stiff side walls both coming off and going on.
New tire is mounted and doesn't look too far out of balance either.  Over the next several days I'll balance the wheel, clean up the drive splines and lube them up with some Honda (forgive me lord) Moly 60, slip in new rear brake pads and maybe even change the rear brake fluid while I'm in there on the Kawasaki (forgive me lord....again) Concours.
Good to spend some time getting to know the bike.

Honda Moly 60 is recommended by many forums for shaft rear ends.........there are other alternatives, but look carefully on the label to get that 60% molybdenum content.   Remember to clean out the old stuff, as it may not mix well with the moly lube.

Honda Moly 60 is great stuff, if a little hard to find. I found it at the third Honda shop I looked for it. A tube (sort a small, grease gun cartridge size) is about $20 but a little goes a long way. It's a lifetimes worth for me. All my splines get 'painted' with this stuff, I use a trimmed flux brush to apply. Guzzis and BMWs have got LOTS of splines to look after  Smiley. Great for multi link suspension bushings too.

Wrenched on the project Guzzi the past couple weekends, making slow progress. Made up a brake shoe spreader to remove and reassemble the rear brake plate (after a vapor blast in Chilliwack) and that worked great. Don't you love it when you dream up a solution and implement it with just the junk you have lying around the shop? Started preparing/polishing the soft Borrani hoops before reassembling the wheels. Ugh....nasty, dirty slow job. Any advice on how to refurbish alloy rims, taking out the pits/scratches and buffing to a high luster? Pooh...I'm guessing nothing replaces good ol' elbow grease. New Spitfires arrived from Jake Wilson last week. Will place an order this week to MG Cycle for further Guzzi related paraphernalia.

Sure is nice to be able to work in the shop this time of year....unlike the poor b*ggers back east. Gotta love the west coast  Cool.

Thinking about ordering some rearsets for my old 550seca project and getting it up and running this year.Then I ran into a deal on an old 392 hemi for my Hotrod project and seeing as my lottery  ticket didn't pay off I am forced to put the Seca on hold again. Sad

Rob, if that Honda moly is a black moly grease, I'd bet it is the same thing that we use at work, just packaged for Honda.

We buy it as "Isky Rev Lube"

It's a moly lube that Iskendarian requires for break-in but it makes a great assembly lube. we use it on speedo cables and pretty much anything that might not see lubrication until we take it apart again.

Lordco and Mopac carry it.

Well, no work on bike itself, but operating system for the bikes had some diagnostics done on the OEM fluid pump.   Found some warn/partially clogged O2/cooling lines, but the replacement parts won't fit this model.  System will still work, but may balk at high-speed running.   Will monitor and assess, and system is OK, but I may be Walking Dog for a bit.

My little mugwump is stressed, but knowledge will help her feel better.....I hope. Cool
