Well, I bought another CX/GL bike and I rode my '80 CX to derby reach and back, stopped at Shail's to have a look at the Royal Enfields.

A 20-something brunette with green eyes in a Cavalier gave me the once-over and smiled when I was stopped at an intersection. I guess she was taking pity on an ugly guy with an uglier motorcycle.

Here's pics of the new ugly motorcycle. A ratty old GL500 that I bought for a parts bike. It's got 36,000 miles on it and rund like a dream.

I call her Piggy.

BTW, as a warning for all of you, Rob (Motolobo) is an enabler.

Everyone is good at something.... Grin

So now Shawn's got a cafe bike, an offroad toad and touring rig, all in CX format. Cool! Maybe one more with extended forks so you can ride with just about any crowd! I'll keep my eyes open Wink.

I took a beautiful drive (alas, on four wheels not two) out to Chilliwack today and visited the boys at the new vapor blasting business around the corner from Big Top. Good guys and a cool process for all us restorers/refurbishers. My wheel hubs/bearing carriers turned out great. They've got examples of fork sliders, engine covers & cases, carbs, rims, etc. Contact Dale (Justbike), Kevin (Scotty) or Chris (1000J) for the lowdown.

Mounted the peices that were removed and saved when the DT125 enduro was purchased in 1974 , then took pics for collector plates , should have road up Tamahi and over to cultus lake on the single track trail instead, it was so nice and sunny out.
