TT, your Honda is just a Japanese Guzzi. Get Roy to help you.

Hmm..
A Honda, then a Guzzi, I'd just need a BMW to have the whole motorcycle Axis of Evil.

The #20 pilot jets for my KZ1000 finally arrived today. I installed them this evening. Best $15 I've spent in along time. She fired up and idled down nicely. No more popping and farting. It was pissing down rain and pitch dark outside so I didn't take her out. May not get a chance until after New Year.
So, any of you out there that own a KZ1000 with Vance & Hines header, I recommend #20 pilot jets. If you are still running the #17.5s, you are probably running too lean.
I had the #17.5s in there as recommended by a couple of reputable shops, including the place I ordered the header from. The bike ran, but not well. Was OK after 1/2 throttle or more. At idle and low rpms it missed and popped. It ran better when warmed up, but popped on deceleration. The pipes were beginning to blue. All indications of a lean condition. So I stopped riding it and ordered #20 pilots. Starts and idles well right away. Problem solved.
Cheers,
Ross
