I finally got around to safety wiring the neutral switch screws. These screws go through the plastic switch so they cannot be too tight. Unfortunately those screws have a reputation for sometimes backing out, sometimes with catastrophic results. My paranoia is  down a few notches now.

New battery for the Tracer900.  Got it at Edmonds Battery.  List pice $105+tax etc.  Using David’s account it cost $75+tax etc.  Thanks David.

It’s an Energy Power brand AGM battery.  Now I know guys will chime in on cheap batteries online with free shipping, yada yada yada.  But I got it the same morning that I thought about it, from a brick and mortar store that has given me good service over many years.

I've been buying sealed batteries for a number of years from local suppliers.  Gave up on the usual Canadian Tire wet cell ones years back.  These new ones last a LOT longer and don't seem to need recharging as frequently. Worth the extra money, and NO spilled acid to mark up your paint or aluminum.

Got back to fiddling with my '73 CB350G a few weeks ago.  Built it from boxes of rusty parts, starting in 2020, but, while it looked good, never could get it running properly, especially on both cylinders.  Let it sit a couple of years, then got tired of looking at it early this spring.

I had gone through pretty much everything on the bike, then realized that I had not really considered the condition of the carb diaphragms.  I ordered a pair of cheap aftermarket from ebay, from somewhere in New Jersey (don't ask me why).   Tracking showed the parts drifted arounf Illinois for about 3 weeks, then they escaped to Canada, and arrived here 6 days later.

Tried installing a few days later, and discovered the darn things were too big on the centre hole.....likely for a 360.  Contacted the sender, and came to an agreement for a refund, pretty quickly, good on him.   Reordered from Common Motor in Houston, via DHL, had the new ones in 5 days.

Installed the new ones earlier this week, and flopped the carbs back on the bike, with a frshly charged battery.   No starter fluid, but fresh gas, and the darn thing fired up after about 20 seconds of cranking.   Idle adjustment, and smooth running on both cylinders.    Starts easily when cold, now.   Runs pretty good, but does need a bit of minor adjustments.

Sent off for Collector plate this morning.....ICBC no longer needs a 7 buck cheque, and you can apply via email attachements.  Cool.

I just applied for a C plate at the beginning of Jan (was approved in 4 days).  I had to send in physical pictures (glossy no less).  I've also never paid a fee and this was my 6th collector plate.

The seven bucks is for title search.

But, the online app., including photos, is new.
