I've only done it in bikes that didn't try to be too smart for their own good.

My Stelvio has a "bulb out" warning but only for the turn signals. The tail lights are LED already and I swapped H4 LEDs into the headlights.

Engine rebuild is complete.  I tore it down to the cases and checked everything.  Replaced the cam chain and the upper cam chain idlers.  Otherwise everything was good.  Photos below show the bike back together.

Onto the next job.  Rebuilding the TK carbs on Sweetum's KZ550.

Thanks to all. 

Some people focus on riding and leave the wrenching to others.  Some focus on restoring and leave the riding to others.  I guess I'm in the second group.  I really get pleasure out of taking apart an old piece of equipment while wondering about why it was designed the way it was and what was the expected life.  Zeds are so easy to work on.  Everything seems logical and designed with thought for how it would eventually be replaced.

Bill, I may suspect that you consider Zeds easy to work on because you have done several, and are dangerously approaching expert level.

Step your wrenching up a bit and do a Brit bike, then something else, then another Japanese small displacement machine......learning continuously. Cool

I suspect Zeds are relatively easy. The CB 750 however , I believe is one of the easiest engines for an OHC to work on, especially for a 4 cylinder.
And yes it gets easier and familiar after a few times.
 Modern stuff, is quite complex, and far harder to trouble shoot or fix..... they are in B.C. territory.... bring cash..

What a superb specimen.  That bike looks better that when it rolled out of the dealership.  Definitely a head turner.  Congratulations.

I actually consider this one to be a better bike...at least closer to factory original.  If I had a trailer I might bring them both.

Yeah, maybe a different manufacturer but not British.  I'm not ready for that kind of frustration yet.  Maybe a Honda or a two stroker.  A water buffalo has some appeal.

After seeing some efforts by others having a go at an RZ00, I don't think there are enough pharmaceuticals in BC to cure that mistake.
