  Further to my long previous entry,,,,  I finally was able to finish installation of
My Oxford heated grip kit on my XR dirt bike. Following instructions to turn on the system to test it before strapping it tight with zip locks, I put the system on full power for maybe 4 minutes while I put tools away. Experience with factory heated grips on a ‘91 ‘reichlander’ ( casual and nice) and an ‘08 reichlander ( serious 3rd degrees heat), I have to say that as long as your 30 year old charging system can keep up, the Oxford kit will with ease poach an egg! OMG!! No wonder this stuff it made in England where summer is just spring ‘lite’. I’m pleasantly surprised, and glad to take advantage of a great little shop’s closing down sale price of $60 all in!!

Yeah, that's the problem with most vintage bikes.  They can't produce enough power for the new fangled gadgets.

I got the tensioner made and the bike back together. Now I'm going to get rid of the exhaust wrap and either paint with satin black or clear for a stainless look.

I like the stainless look.....when I cleaned up my GS850, I heavily "buffed" the original exhaust headers to get rid of surface rust, and several people asked if it was stainless....a nice clearcoat would create a new look, fer sherrr.

It can be done but it's not a simple swap.

H4 LEDs are usually a drop-in. If you had a sealed beam, you need to de-pin the socket and swap two wires.

1156 or 1157 led bulbs are a drop in with no changes.

Unless Kawasaki uses some goofy, proprietary bulbs.

All the H4 LED replacements I've seen have big knobs  (for cooling? ) hanging off the back of the 'bulb' so wouldn't fit in the headlamp housings on any of my bikes - if anyone knows of good LED replacement H4 bulbs that don't have this appendage, please post.

Original headlights were sealed beam, at least here in NA.  But that's not the issue.  I tried a direct swap but it refused to work.  That was a few years ago and I've forgotten why but I think it had to do with the circuit resistance.
