Looks really nice but you need mirrors!

I painted the "DOHC" stamp on the stator cover and ignition cover.  One looks really good.  The other is so so.

I think I finally have my TR5T clutch issues ironed out.

Clutch dragged when I got the bike, and lever pull was like crushing golf-balls.   After a comment by Jefft, decided to jump at it.   New cable, new friction discs, new billet aluminum pressure plate, and new springs.

All went relatively well with installation, further new bits and pieces as I progressed with putting it back together.  Clutch now had a nice light pull, but slippage, even with new springs tightened just about right down.    Put old springs back in (likely Barnett, one size fits all from 500 to 750...yeah, right), back to golf ball threat.

Through discussion with a supplier on the phone, determined that my new springs were correct, for a 500, but not a good match for the new pressure plate.  The old ones were too strong for the 500.   Ordered stock springs for a 650, and tossed them in this afternoon when I received.   Balanced pressure plate, and took the beast for a snort up the road.

Reasonable lever pull, no slippage, and tightened just right so no drag in gear and lever in.   I think I'll leave it right there.

Now to get the primary cover back on and look for another project bike.

As has been mentioned before some of us still go to our dealers to source old parts before heading to internet search to be loyal although many of our dealers are no longer operating or in business. After 41 years my rear master cylinder gave up on my Z1R and fortunately it has good front brakes so made it home from our ride that day with no issues.  A quick call to Burnaby Kawasaki before searching the internet and they said yes they could still get the parts I needed ( I did not quabble with the price as was pleased)  Not only did they have my cell number on file but there was no deposit or request for credit card information.  Just a friendly we will call you when it arrives John.
Now keep in mind this comes from a guy that purchased a bike 41 years ago and never purchased another one so I do not fit their demography of an ideal customer.
Kudos to Burnaby Kawasaki on Edmonds street in Burnaby.

Burnaby Kawasaki......great dealership.  Purchased my new '2006 Kawasaki Concours from them.  Great operation.  Wish more of the dealers were that good, maybe they would still be around.

The Burnaby Kawasaki building has been sold, and sometime in the future they will be moving. I’ve not spoken to anyone there for a while, but I don’t believe it is imminent. I for one will be sad to see them move. Fantastic old school operation, super old school feel. Great people there.
