Technically, it’s spring maintenance. Summer isn’t until after the solstice.

Thanks Frank but everything behind me is a mess. Have the mechanical fuel injection system apart from my 1991 Mercedes SL. The most expensive thing you can buy is a cheap Mercedes! The Honda sign is a cheapo plastic one.

Hi All. I fired up the 73 for the first time this year and two of the carbs were overflowing. I found some flakes of dirt under the float needle valves. It runs good now. I also installed two inline fuel filters. Hopefully that will prevent a similar occurrence. They don't look very stock but reliability is more important. It's always nice taking it for that first ride. :-)

Changed the front tire on the Vstrom. It's kind of a difficult bike with the stressed motor and no front frame to elevate the front end. My shop used to be a horse stable and wood 6X6 post are cut off flush with the floor. A hasp hook screwed to the wood and a ratcheting tie down worked well.

Dang. I should have noticed that. I have the same ones on my bikes. Good catch, Shawn.

If you can't get one, make one.

I finally got the Aspencade running again. The throttle cables broke at the beginning of May. I ordered a pair on May 4. Still not in. I finally took the cables off the Killer Bike - they were in great condition. Put them on today and fired her up. It sure felt good to be riding this bike again. The Shadow is nice, and always bails me out when other bikes are off-line, but a trip to Penticton and back, including the full length of Kelowna at rush hour, is hard on a body.

I sat on it!  Felt good but I don't think I have enough strength in my left leg to stop the bike from falling to that side.
