Rebuilt the master cylinder today and bled the brakes. That's a messy job at the best of times but doubly bad for dual brakes. Took an entire can of brake fluid.

Helped Sweetums put her signal lights back together. Last winter she pulled them apart to clean them but she never got the time to put them back before we moved. Everything works but one side of the signals is slower than the other. Probably a poor connection on one side.

Last few days took the carbs off the 760's, cleaned and then balanced them. Both seem to be running better now. Cliff.

The past couple of weeks (when I have a couple of hours free time), I've been installing the new wire harness on the Trophy Trail.
The one on the bike (put together by a multiple-previous owner), while working, was impossible to search out any electrical problems or add new switches, components, etc. Wires were all black, with no connectors, but was soldered and heat-shrinked at all joints. Everything on the bike worked, but some components were direct from battery (horn, brake lights). At least one switch was side-tracked, and was not connected.
I've added turn signals, and re-connected the headlight switch. Plus, a cloth-covered loom just looks better. Likely more ground wires than in the original factory setup.
Might even try some bits on battery power this afternoon.

Finally broke down and hooked up one of those annoying signal light beepers. I've had problems on my Ascot with accidentally hitting the switch and riding around like a newbie with signal lights flashing like it's Las Vegas.
I found a cheap 12v buzzer on eBay. Combined two inputs, one from each signal light, through some steering diodes, to one terminal of the buzzer and connected the other terminal to the bulb side of the brake light circuit. Works pretty well - the buzzer comes on with either signal light but draws so little current that it doesn't make the brake light flash when the signals are flashing (the buzzer's path to ground is through the brake light). While the brakes are applied, 12v goes to both sides of the buzzer and it stops. This configuration makes it pretty convenient to silence the buzzer when stopped in traffic.
I made up thee bullet connector splitters to 'splice' in the buzzer into the existing tail harness so the wiring is all nondestructive.

The liner on the hybrid's tank (KX100/Xr100) let go so I got out the redneck tumbler out and some drywall screws to knock the crap out.
