You probably have a riding buddy.....you just havent met yet..
 I give up asking people to go riding anymore..... there are riders out there.....go riding and you will see them .
 Posting on here often results in other's going for a ride...  but I am done trying to talk people into it, that are not into it anymore..  I have heard every freaking excuse..

  The old saying “it’s like herding cats”,,,is entirely accurate. Group rides over the decades that I have attended have mostly been dangerous,  and uncourteous to other vehicles on the road. Riders of variable skill, machines of differing ease of use and capability, all trying to get from point a to Point b. Some show up with empty fuel tanks, some with full fuel tanks, some need ‘comfort station’ stops every 1 hour, others want to ride 5 hours non stop. Some like straight as an arrow highways, some want backroad canyon twisties, still others like the urban city cruise. Most motorcyclists by their very vehicle of choice tend to be independent by nature.
  It can be tricky finding  someone with similar riding habits.

 2 or 3 others , or someone you really trust is ideal..
 I just go when I want, always have fun, usually meet people. ..  the road sorts everything out..

754 Frank and I, as well as Franks son Vincent and Michael, a buddy of Vinnies, did a tour of the South Okanagan and Similkimeen today.

It's the dirt road from Oliver , west to Cawston  which is just south of Keromeos, on HWY 3...
 Up and over the top. One pic shows top of mountain the other coming down the hill near Cawston.
25 km over the top  10.7 miles of dirt road.. 60 km down to Osoyoos, then over the Richter pass,  then north to Cawston.
 The four of us split up in Oliver,  the 2 that took the longer highway route beat us by around 10 minutes.  
 We had a Motley assortment of bikes. Howard rode  a V-Strom, Vincent a 500 Interceptor, Micheal a Honda Shadow, myself a CB 750..

Cool.  When you first posted the idea for your ride, I looked at a couple of maps.  It’s not shown on my B.C. Highways/Provincial Parks map, but is a faint grey line on my Destination Highways map.

Wow does that ever swing North a long ways..! 
 Looks like the valleys are only 6 miles apart as the crow flies.
 Runningdog look up Torino trail  it's for bikes like yours with great views above Cawston..
 Off you others, the road is quite good, some washboard but  pretty good road.. steep on the West side, I would stay off that in fresh snow. There are remnants of vehicles at the bottom of the Arroyo. .

Today I headed out towards Falkland on the Chase/Falkland road.  At Km 25 I turned onto Paxton Valley Road, which connects winds through the Paxton Valley (what else would one expect?) to end at Monte Lake.  I've never ridden there so didn't know what to expect.  The first 5k was a well groomed gravel road winding through a forest of prime spruce and fir covered acreages.  Then the road narrowed down to a single track along one side of the valley, unfortunately the shady side, so still a fair bit of snow along the road...but none actually on the road.  It seemed like every kilometer brought a new cattleguard signifying a new abandoned farmhouse or ranch.  Must have been pretty tough to earn a living...lots of old abandoned log homes and barns, most with caved roofs.  The road had really deep ruts from someone who had passed through when it was very wet.  Most of this part was first gear only.  Finally I reached some active logging areas about 5 km from Monte Lake.  The road improved as I got closer to town.  Followed the highway to the Duck Range Road, and headed north on this one for a few km, coming out at the Pritchard transfer station.  Then across the river to the SW side and up a gravel road to Chase.  Overall a total of just over 100 km...in about 2 and a half hours. 

This photo was taken about half way down Paxton Valley.  Nice new looking fence, but the access to the ranch house looked unused.  In the background is an old abandoned log cabin and a horse drawn harrow.

 I went to Keromeos again today......#4 of my 20/20 Rides.
 Fairly warm but sun was hiding again, been a lot of that.. around 19 degrees.
 Blew a fuse coming up to the red light by the chrome shop on the West Side.
 Tried to move onto the shoulder while still rolling a t the start of the turn lane, nearly got clipped but saw him just in time.. failed to shoulder check being concerned about  total loss of poet when fuse failed. Got to be care film I think the turn lane was just starting. Oh well swapped a 7 map for the blown 15, and made it home.. a bit puckered crossing the Okanagan Lake bridge..

Ride #6 of my 20/20  rides.,
 Took Westside rd, up to the lakehead, then St Anne rd to Corkscrew Rd.. then thru to Armstrong. Dang it bakery was closed. Took PV rd back 97 back on PV into Vermin, then thru to Kal lake,  up Kickwillie loop, to 97 for 2 Mile's then Kal Lake lookout. Had a Bevvy break, then old 97 north to new 97.
Then the weather looked nasty ahead ,was raining by Winfield and the last 8 miles home.. I was wet by then.
 90 percent good ride, with my son was  on his interceptor.  Sort of fun riding with your kid.

 Got to see 3 or 4 very cool wooden bridges,  railroad built,  I should be taking pics of them.

Vertigo cleared enough today to finally enjoy one of my bikes.... it's been over a month since I've been able to balance well enough to ride on two-wheels. I could barely handle four.....



... it had been since June since I rode the Katana and for some reason I thought it had a full tank of gas. Running out of gas this evening told me that it didn't. You'd think I'd check something like that but last time I looked, the bike had a low fuel light on it... and it worked. At least it used to. Luckily I was close to a gas station and didn't have to push the pig! Still love her... hope she still loves me.
