When I bought my KZ1000 I stripped it down and discovered one of the triple tree bolts was NPT.  It came out and I tried to replace it with a standard metric bolt but the threads were too badly screwed up.  So I put the NPT bolt back in and it seems to work OK.  I started looking for a new triple tree but never acquired one and it fell off my radar.  That was back in 2015.

If you want a triple tree, let me know. I’m making trips to the recycler starting today.

Last ride of the year today.  Quick run half way up Westside Rd and back.  Was actually quite pleasant temperature wise, but cooled off rather quickly once the sun was hidden behind some clouds.  Nice end of season run in this very low mileage riding year.  There's always next year......I hope!

Nice machine.  Reliable as hell if taken care of.  Murray down at Modern in Vancouver converted one into a Sport Tourer a few years back.  Put on higher bars, larger wind screen and a luggage rack with back rest.  His wife and him did several longer tours on it.  Not sure if he still has it.
This is my last weekend of the season.  Insurance runs out in a few days.   CURSES !  Next thing will be switching from raking leaves, to shovelling snow.

That's a lot of bike for that kind of riding, especially with stock gearing imo.

80% rider, 20% bike so they say, and both of the riders on their 701's that day were 100% riders. It was a funny, 2 701's, 1 501 and me on my poor boy DRZ400E

I rode the orange version and owned a DRZ400 and I would take the Suzuki first if the riding was snotty. Those 701 and 690's make crazy power though!

Yes, so they say. The next time we're out I've got to ride one, just to confirm that my riding ability is down at the DRZ level  Grin
